Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count and track surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps
- Assist with patient positioning and draping
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment
- Manage biological waste disposal protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent surgical tech experience
- Proficiency in major surgical specialties (ortho, neuro, general)
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of OSHA and AORN standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and stress management skills
