Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical events accurately
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and provide post-operative support
- Collaborate with nurses and anesthesia teams to optimize surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1-year experience in general surgery or specialty OR setting
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
