Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize operating rooms, surgical instruments, and equipment according to strict protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical events accurately
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency
- Adhere to infection control standards and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing principles and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover varied surgical specialties
- Pass background check and drug screening
