Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeries
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce strict aseptic techniques
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal availability
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital OR setting
- Expertise in sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during high-pressure procedures
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
