Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report maintenance needs
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and prepare them for surgery
- Maintain organized sterile environments and comply with OSHA standards
- Document all activities and inventory in accordance with facility protocols
Qualifications
- Current Surgical Technologist certification (CST) or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical procedures
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle emergency situations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be available to start immediately upon offer
