Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize medical equipment before procedures to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sponges, anticipating their needs.
- Monitor patient vitals and provide post-operative care instructions as directed by nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate inventory of surgical supplies and instruments, restocking as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, nurses, and anesthesiologists to ensure patient safety.
- Adhere to all hospital protocols, safety regulations, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of surgical terminology, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform heavy lifting as required during procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stakes situations.
