Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and order surgical supplies/equipment to ensure availability
- Follow strict sterilization protocols for equipment and environments
- Document procedure details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
- Provide post-operative equipment sterilization and room turnover
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Valid Texas surgical tech license
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
