Responsibilities
- Assist in Surgeries: Provide comprehensive assistance to surgeons during operative procedures, anticipating their needs and maintaining a sterile field.
- Instrument Preparation: Prepare and arrange surgical instruments and equipment with precision to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Patient Safety & Care: Educate patients on their procedure and post-operative care while ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of surgical supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information, procedure details, and instrument counts.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Active RN or Surgical Tech license in the state of Virginia.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in operating modern surgical equipment and instrumentation.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with the surgical team and patients.
