Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections adhering to strict HIPAA and OSHA protocols
- Process and transport specimens to laboratories with chain-of-custody documentation
- Operate automated blood analyzers and point-of-care testing equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test procedures and post-draw care instructions
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment calibration logs
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient flow in busy clinical settings
- Implement quality control measures for sample integrity and labeling accuracy
Qualifications
- Current ASCP, NHA, or AMT Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR certification with current AHA or Red Cross credentials
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or Meditech preferred)
- Ability to perform 20+ successful venipunctures per shift
- Strong attention to detail with zero specimen rejection history
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid Oklahoma Phlebotomy Technician license
