Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for diverse procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout all phases of perioperative care
- Inventory and sterilize equipment per hospital protocols and OSHA standards
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care transitions
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
- Proficiency in EHR systems (EPIC preferred)
