Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-surgery
- Prepare patients for surgery and transport them to operating rooms
- Manage sterilization processes and inventory control
- Document surgical procedures and equipment usage
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year acute care OR experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to start within 48 hours of offer
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for 8+ hours
