Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff or surgeon.
- Ensure all surgical instruments are sterilized and ready for use according to strict protocols.
- Handle patient positioning, skin prep, and draping prior to incision.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Technologist (CST) credential required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
