Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sponges, anticipating their needs.
- Maintain a sterile environment and strictly adhere to aseptic techniques.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and recovery areas safely.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
