Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict aseptic techniques
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile equipment and sample integrity per CLIA/HIPAA standards
- Provide exceptional patient communication during high-stress procedures
- Operate automated laboratory equipment with proficiency
- Document all activities using EMR systems with zero tolerance for errors
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASPT or NHA)
- 1+ years clinical experience in acute care or outpatient setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficient in specimen processing and centrifuge operation
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask efficiently in high-volume environments
- Strong knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
- Valid Arizona driver's license for mobile phlebotomy duties
