Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, anticipating surgeon needs.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain a sterile environment in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Position patients correctly and transport them safely to and from the operating room.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the surgical field.
- Document surgical procedures and patient information accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; medical assisting or biology background a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist with patient movement.
- Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and obtain necessary certifications.
