Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize instruments, and arrange equipment for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery to ensure patient safety
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and prepare them for procedures
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to OSHA and infection control protocols
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and restock operating rooms efficiently
- Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to optimize surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
