Responsibilities
- Prepares the Operating Room: Set up sterile field, drapes, and instruments for surgical procedures.
- Assists During Surgery: Pass instruments and sponges to surgeons and nurses with precision and speed.
- Maintains Sterility: Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Instrument Management: Accurately count and inventory surgical instruments before and after procedures.
- Patient Care: Position patients safely and ensure comfort throughout the operation.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient data and surgical interventions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow all hospital and OSHA safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
