Responsibilities
- Preparation: Set up operating rooms, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for surgical procedures.
- Assistance: Pass instruments and materials to surgeons and assistants during operations, anticipating their needs.
- Sterilization: Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort levels before, during, and after surgery.
- Documentation: Accurately record surgical procedures and equipment usage in patient medical records.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Licensure: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and patients in a high-pressure environment.
