Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and surgical equipment for procedures to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist in draping and positioning patients for optimal surgical access.
- Handle specimens accurately and transport them to the laboratory for analysis.
- Dispose of used supplies and clean equipment according to strict safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and procedural success.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical anatomy.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Valid state license to practice as a Surgical Technician.
