Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures by preparing the operating room and sterilizing equipment.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterile field protocols at all times.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare and drape patients for surgery according to established surgical protocols.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure zero counts before closing incisions.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of surgical supplies and instruments.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation.
