Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms by assembling sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies according to surgical protocols
  • Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision
  • Maintain strict sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
  • Manage surgical inventory, including instrument counts and sterilization documentation
  • Coordinate patient positioning and transport with anesthesia and nursing teams
  • Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
  • Provide emergency assistance during critical situations including hemorrhage control and patient stabilization

Qualifications

  • Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
  • Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center
  • Expertise in multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery
  • Advanced certification in robotic surgery (da Vinci) preferred
  • Current BLS certification with ACLS preferred
