Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by assembling sterile equipment, instruments, and supplies according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision
- Maintain strict sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Manage surgical inventory, including instrument counts and sterilization documentation
- Coordinate patient positioning and transport with anesthesia and nursing teams
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Provide emergency assistance during critical situations including hemorrhage control and patient stabilization
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center
- Expertise in multiple surgical specialties including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgery
- Advanced certification in robotic surgery (da Vinci) preferred
- Current BLS certification with ACLS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure during high-pressure emergency situations
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems
