Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while ensuring safety
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and restock operating rooms
- Adhere to strict OSHA and AORN standards for infection control
- Document procedural activities in electronic health records systems
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
