Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Count and manage surgical instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Transport patients and specimens safely between departments
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain instrument inventory
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in Level I Trauma setting
- Proficiency in orthopedic, general surgery, and neurosurgical specialties
- BLS certification and knowledge of AORN standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Experience with electronic inventory management systems
