Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Handle sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor inventory levels and order surgical supplies as needed
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and infection control standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in Level 1 trauma center
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrument handling
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
