Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Account for surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Transport patients to operating rooms and position them for surgery
- Coordinate with sterile processing to ensure instrument availability
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of surgical tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS/CPR certification (or obtainable within 30 days)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
