Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment, and sterilizing instruments and supplies.
- Assist surgical team during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure the sterile field remains intact throughout the procedure.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate accounts for the patient's safety.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and skin prep.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
