Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound management
- Ensure proper sterilization and processing of surgical instruments
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize surgical workflow
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Adhere to strict OSHA and AORN safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of perioperative experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing techniques
- Ability to work effectively in remote/hybrid settings
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency with surgical documentation systems
