Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and restock surgical supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Transport patients to operating rooms and position them for optimal surgical access
- Document procedural details and equipment usage per hospital protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and AORN standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Valid Texas surgical technologist license
- Commitment to continuous education in surgical technologies
