Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Transport patients and specimens between operating rooms and recovery
- Clean and sterilize equipment post-procedure using advanced sterilization systems
- Document procedures and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience
- Expertise in sterile processing and instrument handling
- Knowledge of OSHA and AORN standards
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
