Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical equipment according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical cases
- Account for all surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps per safety protocols
- Transport patients and specimens to/from surgical suites following established procedures
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment including cameras, lights, and robotic systems
- Document case details accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in sterile processing and inventory management of surgical supplies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Current BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation
- Proficiency with electronic health record systems
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
