Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Account for all surgical instruments, supplies, and sutures before, during, and after procedures
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms with proper safety protocols
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and assist with equipment maintenance
- Adhere to strict infection control standards and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program certification or equivalent military training
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Expert knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Strong familiarity with major surgical specialties (ortho, neuro, general surgery)
- BLS certification and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function in fast-paced environments
