Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment and verifying surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and equipment functionality throughout operations
- Apply sterile techniques and maintain aseptic environments per OSHA standards
- Transport patients and specimens safely between surgical suites and recovery areas
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sterile processing protocols
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic health record systems
