Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functional.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and materials, anticipating their needs.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to any changes in condition during surgery.
- Properly handle and dispose of surgical specimens and biological waste.
- Document patient records accurately and maintain inventory of surgical supplies.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, procedures, and instrumentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
