Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment for complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeries
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical inventory and instrument processing per AORN standards
- Document perioperative activities accurately in EMR systems
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Maintain strict infection control protocols and OSHA compliance
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Current BLS and preferred CNOR certification
- Expertise in robotic surgical systems (da Vinci) preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and instrument sterilization
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
