Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Prepare and sterilize reusable equipment according to established protocols
- Document surgical equipment inventory and maintenance records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to operate advanced surgical equipment (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain sterile environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
