Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical equipment and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound closure
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments per OSHA standards
- Monitor inventory of equipment and restock surgical suites efficiently
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize room turnover times
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain sterile field integrity throughout surgical procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- 1+ years of recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and equipment maintenance protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong understanding of surgical terminology and procedures
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
