Responsibilities
- Assist in Surgical Procedures: Provide crucial support to surgeons and nursing staff, ensuring a sterile and efficient operating room environment.
- Prep Operating Room: Properly set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies prior to surgery, verifying sterility and functionality.
- Pass Instruments: Anticipate the specific needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and sponges with precision and speed.
- Maintain Sterility: Adhere strictly to aseptic technique and infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections.
- Patient Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including marking incision sites and ensuring informed consent.
- Room Turnover: Efficiently clean and sterilize the operating room between procedures to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and currently certified (CST or LST) by the NBSTSA.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute to Miami, Florida.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to track instruments and maintain a sterile field under pressure.
