Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Transport patients to and from surgical suites while monitoring vital signs
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Process and sterilize reusable surgical instruments per hospital protocols
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and notify supervisors of shortages
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary - we provide full training!
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (will be provided if needed)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork mentality
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
