Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and document all surgical instruments and materials pre/post-procedure
- Monitor patient vital signs and sterile technique compliance
- Operate specialized surgical equipment (e.g., endoscopic cameras, robotic systems)
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights/weekends
