Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and holding retractors as needed
- Maintain sterile environments throughout surgical procedures and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety
- Prepare and transport specimens for laboratory analysis
- Scrub, gown, and assist with patient positioning and draping
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Experience with major surgical specialties (orthopedic, general, or neuro preferred)
