Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and ensure all necessary pre-collection procedures are followed.
- Label and process blood samples according to strict laboratory protocols to ensure specimen integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized phlebotomy area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Assist in inventory management for supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
