Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to surgical areas and position them for procedures
- Monitor inventory and restock surgical supplies
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum 1 year OR experience preferred (new grads welcome with training)
- BLS certification required (available onboarding)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
