Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring sterility and functionality.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records and ensure nothing is left in the patient.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and adjust equipment as needed during surgical procedures.
- Document patient care activities and surgical outcomes accurately.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and aseptic technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as required.
