Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Ensure sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure.
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during operations.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and marking incision sites.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification and ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
