Responsibilities
- Deliver expert patient care in acute care settings including ICU, ER, and Med-Surg units
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per facility protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation standards
- Adhere to Alaska state nursing regulations and JCAHO safety standards
- Provide orientation and mentorship to permanent staff during assignment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license or compact state license with rapid licensure support
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and specialty certifications (e.g., TNCC, ENPC) required
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments and protocols
- Strong assessment skills and critical thinking abilities
- Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
