Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical urgency
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Document assessments and interventions in EMR systems
- Oversee patient flow in the emergency department waiting area
- Provide emergency medical interventions as needed
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Current NYS RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department experience
- ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
- Experience with ESI triage protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- EMR proficiency (Epic preferred)
