Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and determine appropriate care urgency using standardized triage protocols
- Provide initial medical guidance and education to patients via phone, telehealth, or in-person consultations
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow and resource allocation
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with precise documentation of assessments and interventions
- Manage emergency situations by activating rapid response protocols and communicating critical information
- Educate patients on preventive care and self-management strategies for chronic conditions
- Collaborate with social services to address patient needs beyond immediate medical concerns
Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Missouri with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience with ER or urgent care background preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Expertise in rapid assessment techniques and evidence-based triage methodologies
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to de-escalate anxious patients and families
- Proficiency in Epic or similar electronic health record systems
- Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in high-stress emergency situations
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred
