Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and in-person triage using established clinical protocols
- Prioritize cases based on acuity and urgency following Emergency Severity Index (ESI) guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation and patient data
- Provide clear discharge instructions and follow-up care recommendations
- Monitor patient flow and departmental efficiency during peak hours
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems preferred
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with relevant experience considered)
