Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency department arrivals based on clinical urgency
- Obtain comprehensive patient histories and perform rapid physical assessments
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Document all patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on emergency procedures and care protocols
- Monitor department flow and communicate bed availability to admitting teams
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
Qualifications
- Active NY RN license with minimum 2 years ED/urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse populations
- Proficient in Epic EMR and triage protocols
- Ability to maintain composure during high-pressure situations
