Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Provide accurate medical advice via phone and telehealth platforms
- Collaborate with physicians and ER staff to coordinate patient flow
- Document assessments and interventions in EHR systems with meticulous detail
- Educate patients on self-care and when to seek immediate attention
- Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate triage documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for patient safety
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- ACLS/BLS certifications required
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with minimal supervision
